There has been a lot of inappropriate content on ITTY. Effective Immediately I hereby establish these rules of conduct:

📜 ITTY Rules of Conduct

Welcome to ITTY!

Our mission is to celebrate radio teletype, share knowledge, and keep the hobby fun and respectful for everyone.

To keep the service enjoyable — and compliant with FCC regulations — please follow these guidelines when submitting content.

✅ What’s Welcome

Amateur radio news, history, and technical notes
Educational material and operating tips
RTTY art, light humor, and personal updates
General interest items that are respectful and hobby-related

🚫 What’s Not Allowed

No obscene, indecent, or profane language (FCC §97.113(a)(3))
No harassment or disparagement of individuals or groups
No political or religious propaganda, no one-way “broadcasting” (FCC §97.113(b))
No violent threats or promotion of illegal activity (FCC §97.113(a)(5))
No advertising or commercial messages (FCC §97.113(a)(2))

📻 The Amateur Spirit

Amateur radio exists for self-training, intercommunication, and technical investigations — not for broadcasting opinions or culture wars. The same goes for ITTY. Please keep submissions consistent with that spirit.

🛠 Moderator’s Discretion

Submissions may be edited, delayed, or rejected if they don’t align with these rules. Repeated violations may result in loss of access to the ITTY service.

⚖️Legal

These rules are consistent with FCC 47 CFR Part 97 — specifically §§97.113(a)(2), (a)(3), (a)(5), and (b). I use FCC and ARRL as good practice and guidance

📌 Quick Summary:

🚫 No profanity, abuse, or personal attacks
🚫 No political, religious, or propaganda content. A news story is ok, but an attack on anny elected official or person is not.
🚫 No violent threats or illegal material
🚫 No advertising or commercial use
✅ Keep it hobby-related, respectful, and fun!

If you contribute content and don’t like these rules, make your own service.

Paul
