If these are the 3-phase supplies, I can attest these are the densest pieces of equipment I have ever encountered! They feel like they're filled with lead and are deceivingly heavy for their small size. Happy to hear the NJ is getting these URT-23s online.

Subject: [GreenKeys] Good news and...gooder news

The Battleship NJ is back at the pier and hoping to reopen this week. The good news is the 28 asr/dometop in message handling seems to still be happy (it still needs a little clutch adjustment), and gooder news is I was wrong and the Harris radio I was using for RTTY is fine and next time Im at the ship (not this weekend) Im hoping to get her back on RTTY. Ill try to shoot out something here ahead of time so maybe we can give it a workout. I was there last weekend however the AC was working hard to cool her off but I could have baked cookies in message handling, and after helping move 5 urt-23 power supplies down a deck I think I lost 10lbs in 3 hours.

Better yet, we got a handful of urt-23 transmitters while we were in dry dock, so I guess my next projects include sorting out the (chopped up) transmitter switchboard so we can get at LEAST one of those up and running! The transmitter room is starting to fill out nicely!

Future projects because Im a serious glutton for punishment and you heard it here: by the end of the year, I want to do a torn tape message with Nick. This will involve reconnecting/fixing up the system enough to get it connected, and either connect the loops on asr #1 (75 baud) AND/OR...perhaps bring a crusty waterfall back from the dead. (They are in VERY rough shape). I need to bribe/ sweet talk the guy that does the mechanicals lol. (He has at least one printer unit I think). At a minimum, Im hoping to fix enough wiring to light them up again. Id love to find an LED warm-white replacement bulb for them (something that would work in any model 28).

Adult drinks may have been involved in this post, so take it with a grain of salt, but Im sticking to my goals. ;-)
