[GreenKeys] New to RTTY, looking for equipment

Most of the Ebay prices are the seller's pipe dreams. Machines can be found for reasonable prices ($100 or less) & sometimes for free if you'll pick it up. But it may take patience, maybe a lot of patience, before a good deal appears that's not very far away. Ebayers will ask crazy prices for rusted hunks & even think they're rare WWII Enigma machines.

 Hi,

Glad to be here. I'm investigating purchasing a real mechanical
teletype machine for decoding amateur RTTY and various other fun, and
wondering whether the prices I'm seeing on eBay for these units are
reasonable. Currently there's a Model 15, which is the one I'd want,
listed for $479. He had it for $500 earlier. High shipping costs, of
course. I'm also looking for an FSK demodulator. Seeing similarly high
prices for those. Are they just uncommon enough these days that that's
what you have to pay?

Some background on me: I have been tinkering with old equipment my
whole life, have restored several typewriters, radios, various other
equipment, but I've never done anything with TTY before. I've been
doing a lot of reading, so everything I know comes from that at the
moment.
