The Antique Wireless Association Museum has just completed a Ham Shack
addition with multiple stations. The grand opening of the Ham Shack
will be on 27 Sep 2023, as part of the AWA Convention.
I have been adapting one of the stations, a R-390 RX & T-368 TX (400W)
for RTTY with the addition of a MD-239 FSK modulator and a HAL ST-6000
TU. I hope to have the AWA Museum station, W2AN, on the air on RTTY on
Tuesday afternoon.
What is a good 40M frequency to CQ on?
The MD-239 is set up for low space (LSMFT), but I'll be driving it with
the low-level DC output from the ST-6000 with a switch to select either
low-Space or low-Mark.
Plan on running 850 hz shift, but don't know yet if the ST-6000 will
drive the MD-239 hard enough, so my shift may be a little low. Still
have to check that out Tuesday AM.
Was planning on rolling in a M28ASR, but found that it has been modified
with a fixed 2K in the loop somewhere. If I can't fix it right away,
will use a M15 (but no tape). (Have a M19, but it is not on wheels.)
I will give a shout here when I get on the air.
Hope to be able to contact someone on Tuesday and demonstrate it during
the convention.
Thanks,
Duncan Brown, K2OEQ
