I have a set of ura-17s from the ship I had on the bench but these are the next newer version. Every single electrolytic capacitor except the power supply (oddly) were completely bad. They are very complex and I was struggling to dial the first one in, yet somehow I got it working ok. The manuals just seem to skip steps or something. Recapping wasnt too bad as theres not a ton of caps.
The ones I use on the ship likely need help too, they dont squelch out (lack of rtty signal just prints gibberish unless I turn input gain to nearly nothing) but otherwise seem to copy ok.
