Hello Steve.. Yes the ST5 I have is one I built from the old ARRL
Specialized Communication Technique handbook.. I still have the book which
is a good thing as I have forgotten some of the things I did with it.. It's
my ugly perf board construction I did back then I cant stand ha ha.. It's
so bad.. I am probably going to rebuild it with a new circuit board.. Also
the UART circuit, it's just bad looking ha ha.. I had a lot of fun on 20
meters with it all back in the late 70s and 80s.. Hoping to get it all
working again..
