[GreenKeys] Full chad LPR

You know my first though on this was it getting continuous blanks from the tape feed out feature. You may have mentioned what the piece was that broke off was, but I've slept since then.

I vaguely recall reading something about the remote feature expecting just a pulse so to speak. Then when the armature is released something gets latched up (the thing the armature triggered when it was energized). So if something is misaligned it thinks the trigger solenoid is energized constantly.

What reminds me of all of this is the problem I had with my UGC-20. It has the model 32 keyboard. When a key is pressed a contact closes and energizes the LD to serialize the parallel bits from the keyboard. When I typed a letter, it would send that same letter continuously until I manually reset the thing. There was a cam on the LD shaft that was supposed to reset the thing. It acted like the solenoid was continuously energized, but there was no power to the coil except briefly at the time I pressed the letter key. I had to make an adjustment to fix it.

I don't know if that was clear enough. You might get a cleared idea from the LD description docs. It would be easier than trying to read though the docs on the reperf. tape feed out feature. I get a headache every time I try to relate the description to the illustrations.

The core problem is I don’t know if the unit is defective or if I’m defective at trying to get it to work. At this point the decision is to either spend more money to buy another full punching unit and hope it works or pack it in and just be happy with a chadless ROTR.
