What are the exact dimensions on that button? I'm pretty sure those same
buttons are still used on some industrial equipment.

And thank you for the ref, buying from Dave is an even better option! I'm
using vinyl tubing as a hammer pad now, is there any advantage going back
to the original style?

I agree that's a rare plate and I'd be reluctant to modify it beyond a good
cleaning and replacing the missing button. These units were often pretty
beat up in regular service, or that's my excuse anyway..
