[GreenKeys] Line/Test switch

Hi friends,

Since I've been in and around the ASR these past few months, I've been doing little projects on it. For example, I put in new bushings/isolator rubber thingies that mount the TD onto the frame. Another thing I saw was this LINE/TEST switch on the LESU and the lever outside the cabinet to actuate it.

The mechanical aspects of this switch seems to work the same as the motor on/off switch.

The lever on the cabinet rotates a rod that goes to the back of the cabinet, in front of the LESU. Then with a bracket it flips the toggle switch left or right.

When I first looked at this situation, I noticed that the rod for the LINE/TEST switch was supposed to go through a hole in the LESU to support the rear of the rod (just like the on/off switch does). Mine was not inserted into this hole, it was just lying about in front of the LESU. And at this point in the story, the switch moved up and down and the rod rotated very easily but the rear moved around a lot. So I took it upon myself to get this rod into the hole in the LESU. This was very difficult to do requiring me to loosen various bolts to be able to lift this rod high enough to get into the hole (maybe 1/16" needed).

Ok. Now that I did that, the rod is now binding on the horizontal cross brace (for lack of a better term) and is very hard to move the lever. The rod has a bracket attached and it is where this bracket hits the cross brace that causes the binding. To the extent I can move it, I can see it lifting the works like the printer! Just a bit. Short little video of what its doing.

At this time, I think the problem is either the LESU is too high up (I don't think it is, it appears to be tightened against the base) or the cross brace is too low. Interestingly enough, again the power switch that also runs under this cross brace works perfectly. What could cause this? Could it be that there are bushings under this cross brace, existing on the right to the benefit of the power switch, but missing in the center and/or left to the detriment of this line/test switch?

Truth be told, this switch is pretty useless. Best I can determine, all it does is open the external loop. Does it have another function?
