You can try to hook it up to a TD to serialize it, but I don't think 
that was how it was used originally.

The big Cinch-Jones connectors were typical of the crypto equipment of 
the 1940-1960 era.  ie.  SIGABA, AN/FGQ-1 (aka 131B2) and TSEC/HL-1.
So I think it might have been used with crypto equipment.
