Sources: NAVSHIPS 93434(A) and TM11-487A-3
- doesn't mean they actually exist beyond prototypes but there was
indeed a DC motor and p/s nomenclature assigned.
Option for the AN/TGC-14(V) MITE -
DC Power Supply Kit, MK-540/UG (DC Motor PD-85U is p/o MK-540/UG, 26 vdc)
MK-540/UG POWER SUPPLY KIT, DC
To provide means of introducing primary DC power and signal
information into EQUIP, signal line power, necessary power for
converting neutral TTY signals into polar signals, and provides for
low temperature operation. It also provides motive power for TTY by
means of SER governed Motor, DC PD-85/U. Input power: 26 vdc. Output
power: Dual range line sensor is 28 vdc at 100 ma plus 6.0 vac at 450
ma; signal line power supply is 28 vdc at 100 ma. MK-540/UG is p/o TTY
Set AN/TGC-14(V) and others. It is u/w, but not p/o TTY TT-297/UG.
(USMC)
The airborne version -
TT-264/AG says - AC power: 110/220v, 400 cps, 3 ph; DC power: 28v, 9.5 amps.
(Alternate power requirements can be met depending on how EQUIP is. ordered.)
(it is not clear to me that means either AC or DC - But if an AC motor
why would you need 9.5A at 28vdc? The specs for the AC versions say
270W total)
However - MIL-T-22143 only says 110v, 400 cps, 1 ph.

>> I feel very lucky to have a working MITE and even more to have a 60cycle unit thanks to a GreenKeys lead. My ultimate goal is to have it mated up to my PRC-47 and operating in the field, I still need to find the CV-2455 converter to complete the project, I'm currently running it from the GRC-106/MD-522 combination.
>>
>> I have read(not official) on two occasions that there is a 28V version of the MITE, the manual states availability of two AC motors 60 or 400 cycle, it makes no mention of a DC version, the manual is dated 4/1966.
>>
