Ken -
Are the dual TDs LXDs? I had a 28 ASR with what appeared to be LXDs however one of them was an LX - parallel output. This was a special system for the Air Force I was told and the LX was supposed to feed a computer. Also, the machine was all 100 wpm and there were no 60 wpm gears for the TD arrangement.

Subject: [GreenKeys] asr dual TDs

I am watching this subject with interest as I have a 28asr that had a
spider web of non original loose wires inside that I removed. The
original wiring to the
terminal strips is in good shape. This asr has what looks to be
factory dual TDs. I am thinking I will series them but do not know how
the original wiring was connected but maybe someone here can enlighten me.

As Eugene says, all the connections are on the terminal strips
connected so you can do whatever you want. But standard usage for all
the Navy M28 KSRs and ASRs that I have seen so far have a single loop
connection with keyboard and printer in series (also TD in the ASR).
Maybe because you wanted to also print what you were sending? But
what do I know.....
nota bene - the 28ASR K-KT-T switch would let you cut a tape locally
while printing from elsewhere.
