Fred, I have a few of these. They take 1 inch tape (8-level) and some are parallel and others are serial. But if you can punch Baudot on the top (or bottom) 5 of the 8 bits and do the same with the reader, it can be used to store baudot. But probably too much effort. My plans are to use them with a PDP-8e and PDP-11s I have a bunch.

Hi Fred,
Hopefully someone here has better information, but the several Remex readers I worked with were all ASCII and parallel output. They were part of computer machine tool controls (early automation)

Anybody using the Remex tape reader ( I was interested in the series 9000) ? Does it work for Baudot and ascii ?
Looking for manual please. Does it get connected into the local loop ?
I saw one in Eugene's shack tour.
Curious about why all the interest in Navy equipment. What about the army, air force, etc. ?
Since I am Canadian, I'm not familiar with all the military gear.
