ok, i'll chime in now...  i took typing in 8th grade and was one 
of two boys in the class.  took it cuz i figured it would help 
in HS.  I did learn to touch type, but the grade was based 
on time tests, with TIME deducted for each error...  so i 
would often have a negative grade!  barely passed the 
course, but DID learn to touch type -- which not only helped 
w/hs reports, but two years later when i got TTY eqpt fm 
Army MARS it made a big diff...

up until last wed night when i fell and broke my left 
shoulder and now cant use left arm...  how yukky now typing 
with one finger.  :((
