 Duncan,
same audio channel.   We were using TMC MMX-2 ISB exciters with the optional6kHz bandwidth filters.  We needed the extra audio bandwidth because we were usingthe ISB transmitters at Greenville for program feed to the stations in Europe and Africa, before we got into satellite program distribution.
One tone pair was lower, maybe between 700 and 1000 Hz, the other tone pair wasmaybe somewhere in the lower 2kHz range.
I wish I have taken far more copious notes about the RTTY, had I known we'd havediscussions like this 35 years after the fact!!

We also used two tone pairs, and I have no idea what tone pairs were used, but  both tone pairs were keyed simultaneously (and at the same time), and the tone convertors on the receive side used the two sets of tones in a diversity process, which helped a bit in achieving good copy.

Were the two tone pairs in the same 6 Kc band or on separate sidebands?

 Thanks,

 Duncan
