[GreenKeys] Re-inking ribbons

FWIW, I use WD-40 all the time on the ribbons I run through my Model 32
connected to the i-Telex network. The machine is in use of some sort
every single day either for personal messages or printing a couple of
Twitter accounts available through the i-Telex server. I have a stash
of ribbons acquired from various sources which are variously labeled
typewriter/Teletype/teleprinter/Underwood ribbons. Whenever I replace a
ribbon in the Model 32 I usually pull one of the dried out ribbons from
the stash, put it in a Ziploc bag, give it a pretty liberal spraying of
WD-40 (the "regular" WD-40 since there are several products now with
that brand), both around the outside edge and also into the center of
the spool, let that sit in the Ziploc bag until I am ready to change
ribbons again which can be a few weeks. Then I install the WD-40 soaked
ribbon and repeat the process. The print may be very dark or "bleeding"
at first but after a few days it evens out to nice print. I use both
halves of a ribbon; when the print gets too light on one half/side I
flip it over so the head is hitting the other half of the ribbon. The
usage may vary from ribbon to ribbon but is usually quite a long time.
I don't necessarily keep track of how long a ribbon treated with WD-40
lasts but it seems like a long time to me. Mileage is obviously varying
among users.
