[GreenKeys] Never close enough and never willing to ship! LOL!

Here in the UK we have "Man and Van" options... Just independent owner/operators who will do virtually any sort of moving or delivery job for you - and quite affordable.  Recently I had about 600lbs of SGI server equipment moved from Scotland to myself in the south of England for £100... The same driver also delivered a Model 33 to me from the north of England for £50... The good, reputable guys will follow your instructions to the letter and take great care with it, no matter how fragile.

But you probably don't have too many drivers over there that are willing to drive across the whole country for $100...

Cheers,
 Troy.

You should check with fastnel.  They do a service between there locations.  I hear it’s a pretty good deal and pretty quick.

Some freight companies have what is called a LTL (less than a truck load) shipping.    I bought an attachment for a lawn tractor that was shipped that way.  The local freight company depot was about 40 miles away from my house and I had to go there to pick it up.  The item was on a pallet and weighed about 100 to 150  pounds.  Forgot about what they charged to ship , but was thinking around 100 to 200 dollars.

Another time I got some electronic equipment shipped on a pallet from UPS or FedEX, don’t recall which.  The two items weight about 70 pounds each so the total pallet weight was around 150 pounds.   There is a company just down the road about ¼ mile and the truck driver called and asked if I could pick it up at the company parking lot as he was in a big truck and it would be difficult for him to get in my driveway and back out again.  I took my pickup and met him at that company.  I don’t recall the shipping for that either.

Hi

Just wondering … what does it cost to properly pack up a 33 with stand

and ship it somewhere? The typical eBay / Craigs list type is going to check

out Fed Ex and UPS. I kinda doubt either one will handle something like

this. I’m guessing you build up a wooden box on a pallet these days, then

get it over to the freight company ….

Back in the day, other options existed. I don’t think they do anymore.
