I sold a 3,000lb-ish turret lathe to a guy once and he used "uShip" to get it from Tucson to Texas.Uship is private individuals with trucks, flat beds, all kinds of conveyances actually, who bid on your transportation needs.I dont know what the buyer paid, but I can tell you that the whole loading, strapping down and overall experience on my end was very cordial and professional.Just my .02...Mike

LOL! "Back in the day" (like the '60s and '70s) when Van W2DLT and I (then W2BVE) were selling surplus Model 19 sets, and I had a small Toyota pickup truck I used to put a pallet in the bed of the pickup (just barely fit!) and then assemble the M-19 table and equipment and strap everything down with the plastic strapping bands ... then take it over to a trucking dock (like Roadway) and they were not too happy to have to bring the forklift down from the loading dock to the parking lot level to take the pallet out of the pickup, but they would do it ... AND then they would accept it for C O D shipping !! I doubt one could do that today, and the freight would probably be a week's wages.
