When Tried to free up a Governed motor that was stuck
tight. (Thanks Bill) I oiled the oil holes, oiled the shaft
at the bearings, took the end bell off and forced the strobe disc
back and forth by hand, working more oil into the bearings.
Once it felt somewhat free, I chucked the end of the
shaft into a battery drill and kept spinning and adding
oil until it was free enough that I felt safe plugging it in.
I ran it for a few minutes at a time once or twice a day,
checking for overheating, getting it looser and looser.
I finally ran it for five minutes at a time, then ten.
Eventually it was more free than an identical motor
that had always worked.
The problem now is I have two governed motors and no
way to adjust them. So I will probably never use them.
Both are Motor-161577, Model-5PA66HY37
The stuck one is on Base-PD-18U
The other in on Base-LMU 14
