[GreenKeys] ASR 33 channel 8 always inverse...why?

The ASCII character set only uses seven bits. The eighth bit on the  ASR 33 is only used if you are generating parity.  So that must be what you are experiencing.  You used the term ‘printed’ when I think you are really referring to ‘punched’ in the paper tape.  Printed would be on the paper on the platen, and there you can not see if the eighth bit is even used.  Unless you look at the punched tape.
