It is definitely not identical to the 2-R, but close. The 2-R does have jacks like that.

Looks like a kludge.  Seems like a more conventional use of that stuff
would have the jack boxes and the relay base mounted on the table.  So
maybe it was used without a table.  Anyway you did a beautiful job of
restoring.
