I have an Allstar Node set up at my QTH. For those not familiar It consists of a Raspberry Pi computer running Linux and a modified form of Asterisk software. The Pi is interfaced with a Motorola UHF radio and it allows me to be out and about with my mobile or HT and connect to other nodes or repeaters. What if you replaced the radio (or mike and speaker in a radioless node) with a RTTY modem. You could connect to other hams by connecting to their node and sending your messages. Multiple nodes could connect to a hub node at the same times. If you connected to a node with a radio connected you could also communicate via radio. Just an idea. 😊
