I don't know about "proper," but I just do CQ several times, DE, then call
a few times, then QTH, then some bells. I do this sequence 5 times (5
lines) so people tuning by hear something and have time to tune it in. I
put one bell at the end of the first line, 2 at the second, etc. so I can
easily tell where I am in the sequence. Finally, I think the QTH is
helpful for those with a directional antenna. They have a clue as to the
direction to aim.
Also, people might try sending KE3BK KE3BK DE call call QSA?
