I am wondering what is the use for QBF test signal. 

I have a Test set that does many things:

It is: Sperry (Canada) Combination Teletest  
 
Made by Sperry Gyroscope Company, Canada

The type number is  ST AGC 2PS 1

The left side is the "Distortion Analyzer" and the right side is the  
"Telegraph Generator”

I have never found any documentation for this thing. 
Leads to any documentation or experience would be greatly appreciated.
