[GreenKeys] Why have local reverse line feed and local backspace?

Would it be of any use on an ASR with perforator?  But I don't quite see 
how they'd be in synch.  Things would have to be worked around the 
K-KT-T switch.   I think too complex to make work if you factor in 
operator training, but maybe the Teletype engineers had it figured out?
