So I finally had a chance to look it over, its REALLY crusty inside, but likely all paper dust, and what I didnt notice is the chad bucket is FULL!! (Naturally some of it poured into my trunk).
On the coupler front, its all contained in the UCC area, and the coupler is likely just a copy of the A-J 230. It later dawned on me: ADT-233 is their cheeky way of saying 230 in an ASR-33 lol.
This thing had a pile of wires and switches that are somewhat buggered up, and now I determined it has a diy current loop to rs-232 adapter (also crusty), and also had a ribbon cable sending the parallel data out that was lopped off. There were also two switches added, one appears to be the power switch for the current loop adapter and the other may have been a "caps lock" switch as it goes to the 6th bit on the data bus.
The UCC appears to be a mostly standard UCC-6 with the coupler added on. Since the coupler board is on the outside of it they turned the SMD driver board around, and since its all enclosed in metal that board looked like it BAKED in there. The reader power supply is towards the front so Im pretty sure you could use that area as an ez-bake oven.
Interestingly though the plastic top cover isnt completely open in the UCC area, it only has holes for the coupler then the bottom part where only a small piece of the usual metal cover is.
