I had the opposite problem: I wanted to
run here in Britain (on a 220v 50Hz mains
supply) as ASR-33 designed to run on a US
110v 60Hz mains supply. My low-tech solution
was to buy from the US branch of Amazon
a 12v DC to 110v 60Hz AC inverter, powered
by a British 220v 50Hz AC to 12v DC
transformer.
Maybe the opposite would work for you: buy
from the British branch of Amazon a 12v
DC to 220v 50 Hz inverter and power that
from a locally bought transformer.
