Steve,
Thank you for the warm welcome! I've already gotten some helpful replies on my initial post.
Since you wanted to know how I got the teletype bug: I have an interest in vintage military radio (I find equipment locally through word of mouth and listing sites). One day I was browsing through my local classifieds and found a listing for an (if I recall correctly) ASR 28. It looked interesting, so I did a little research. Before I knew it, I was intent on getting a TTY.
Unfortunately, when I inquired about the listing a couple days later it was already gone. So, I spent a while hoping for a decently priced one on eBay, before eventually finding Greenkeys. I've already been given a potential offer, and more words of welcome. My experience so far has been great, and I'm sure it'll continue to be.
Thanks again for the everything!
-Michael

Michael,
Welcome to the group.
I'm curious what gave you the teletype bug?
For me it was because I like antiques and technology.
I was in an antique store a few months back and spotted an Associated Press M15 RO
under a stack of junk.
At the time I had only a vague notion of what a TTY was but I bought it because I knew
having Associated Press on it made it cool.
After some Google searches and reading I discovered ham radio operators started using them
after WWII when a huge surplus of them came onto the market.
I'm a ham so that was great news.
Now I'm hooked.
GreenKeys is a great bunch of folks. Very smart, very helpful and very generous.
People on here have given me a lot of parts for my restoration effort and I have even been gifted
and entire M19 among other things.
Free or cheap machines come up on here a lot so you came to the right place.
Cheers,
-Steve AD8CI

Hi everyone, I'm Michael. I'm from Annapolis, MD, and I'm completely new to Greenkeys. I've been interested in owning a teletype for a couple years now, but I never knew where to start with finding one.
Recently, I found a Reddit thread that directed me here.
I'm interested in offers for any sort of teletype in or around Maryland. The item in question can be in any condition, even one in need of major restoration is welcome. If an offer from you or someone you know fits that description, please email me so we can discuss further.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you all!
-Michael
