"Fun stuff! Now back to working on my Webcor wire recorder..."

Dude!!!! I have about 5 of those wire recorders!!!First one was gifted to me by my father-in-law then after that every time I found one inan antique store I bought it.His was working the first time I saw it.None of mine currently work.Too many projects and too little time.Wouldn't it be great to use a wire recorder to send RTTY to a teletype?

Fun to watch! Note that they convert the incoming 5 level code to a
"binary coded decimal" code used by the computer. This, of course, is
EBCDIC ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EBCDIC ), which I have not thought
about in a long time!

The video of the torn tape room was fun! They did not really explain the
routing of messages. Their route map seemed to imply there was a single
circuit covering several cities. Were all cities monitoring this line and
only printing what was addressed to them? Was there any switching at the
intermediate cities, or did everything go through HQ?

Fun stuff! Now back to working on my Webcor wire recorder...
