[GreenKeys] 1/2" wide tape - what for?

My first thought was for some sort of Morse register, but the package
label says "Tape, Teletypewriter".
Too bad we can't see the first digit of the Federal Stock Code. I tried
searching for what was there, but couldn't find any thing.
FSC for teletypewriters would normally start with "5815-"
What did the early WU 2B printers start out with?
