Years ago there were some monitor scope designs/articles using the 902A  2” CRT. 

Due to the “pin-out” and overall design, it was not as popular as units using 2AP1 
and 2BP1 CRTs. 

I think that the number of internal elements was similar to the other two, but for whatever reason the 902A had some elements tied together, making it less desirable and less useful.   I believe it had a standard ‘octal’ plug base. The other two were different, I think. 

Any of this sound familiar to anyone?

I don’t have any of any type available, just some memories.
