I'm going your route building my own computer interface. I had enquired on
the Volpe boards but those are all SMD and never heard anything back and
besides I can't work with that tiny SMD stuff so I reworked the info I
found and redid it for thru hole components and the mega32U4 breakout board
way easier to work on with big fingers!!!!! I'll have to give your PI-Hat a
twirl! BTW Where did you get the 1/4" jacks?

Howdy do all-

I've gotten my teletype type fully restored, and I managed to make a
RaspberryPi HAT for it as well. I can now fully tx/rx from it, connect
it to the intertubes, etc. Any thoughts and advise are welcomed. I'm not
an EE. This has been a lot of fun, and this community has been great to
watch and interact with that got me to this spot.

My first code dump and KiCAD files are here:

Picture of the hat:

Almost done repairing the re-transmitter, but the whole kit is here:

Video of the keyboard being read before I made a hat:

Video of it printing before I made a hat:

And I took it traveling this last weekend for a "field test," and it
worked (4th picture):

My next steps are adding a /dev/piteletype device (almost done) that can
take in any baud rate and buffer it to the machine, and vice versa.

Thanks again and 73's!

Russ
