"Where can I find instructions for replacing a typebar correctly?"
What part of the process are you unsure about? You know how to get the type basket out and of the rails?I had all my type bars out. I took pictures. No need to remove that curved bar they pivot on but if you do it is held in by set screws. To remove the type bars without taking out the curved bar just remove the guide that the ink ribbonruns through and it will allow the type bar to come forward far enough to come out.I also had to remove the bracket that holds the rubber backstop that the type bars rest against.Yes getting the type bars to mesh with the draw bars is a little tricky but after doing a couple it gets easier. If it is off a notch in one direction or the other you will know.If you remove those set screws that hold the curved bar be careful.Mine were mushroomed out on the ends and when I removed them they in turn deformed the slotson either side and caused the adjacent type bars to stick.Best just to leave that curved bar alone unless there is no other choice.

It was the typebar guide. I could not find directions to replace a pullbar so I had to figure it out myself. The best I could do was remove the guide/ribbon oscillator so I could hyper-extend the "S" typebar to remove the broken pullbar and slip a good one in. It took some trial and error to get the teeth meshed right so when the "S" typebar was on the rest the pullbar lined up with the others.
I put at all back together and that is when my uneven baseline started. The guide adjustment turned out to be super-critical. Once I got the baseline straightened out today, I had to do some gentle typebar bending so none of them would stick.
By the way my "Z" is lined up but is still printing light on the bottom.
I am wondering if the type slug is worn. Except for that minor problem, the 15 looks great!
I have a parts carriage.I could take the "Z" from that. Where can I find instructions for replacing a typebar correctly?
Thank you Mike. There are so, so many things to learn about fixing Teletypes. I learned a new one today.
