ACARSAircraft Communications Addressing & Reporting SystemInstalled on virtually every major airline carrier nowadays. It enables airline company to communicate with the crew non-verbally thru a sort of "text messaging" medium.  It also reports things like times of engine start, takeoff, landing and engine stop.     As something of a newbie here, with a
      pair of 33s that I'm sloooowly restoring with Wayne's assistance, 
      can you elaborate a bit or two on ACARS, ATC, ATIS, and WEATHER?

          My handheld will decode the generic ACARS ATC ATIS and WEATHER
          broadcasts and it does have the capability to enter the
          aircraft ID and decode aircraft specific messages, it will not

          So yea the 2400 baud ACARS can be sent to a teletype with a
          baud rate and ascii baudot conversion.
          I'll have to mess about with the FLDIGI that Jeff suggested
