Hi Duncan and all:

For WX, go here and scroll down to your state. If you are in NY, give me your location and I will give you the zone # Otherwise it will be a hit and miss project. https://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/forecasts/zone/ HM will not print banners as "FABS" will not run on 64 bit systems.( WIN10) RTTY art is a hit and miss affair also as some have bee corrupted. Stocks and today in history urls are changed daily as are Top Stories. In order to bypass your listed problems I have a couple of old Dell Latitude laptops (D610) running XP and with RS232 ports dedicated strictly for my machines. Tom WB2TTY

Tom,

One of the problems with the original HeavyMetal program  was that it
was written to bring in text files from specific URLs, but then the URLs
changed and/or they changed from simple text files to HTML or whatever.

For weather forecasts, you can still get text files from the National
Weather Service.  For example,
ftp://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/forecasts/zone/ny/nyz014.txt will bring up
the Canandaguia, NY weather forecast for the day and HM will send it to
your TTY.  We do this all the time at the AWA Museum.
The problem is, figuring out the NWS code for your city. The URL I have
for the NWS codes
http://nws.noaa.gov/mirs/public/prods/maps/pfzones_list.htm  does not
seem to work any more.

good luck,

Duncan
