[GreenKeys] Model 14 restoration

Gentlemen,

I'm in the process to restore a model 14 printing perforator (KSR) and have a couple  of questions.

There is a working bell located on the left side of the printer and another one located on the right side in the far back on the keyboard. That particular one doesn't have a hammer, guess the entire bell assembly is missing. On the backside of that bell is a small, flat and square (¾x¾") THING - looks like a capacitor and both wires are connected/grounded to the base of the keyboard via one tiny screw.

1. why is there a second bell ?
2. how was this bell activated ?
3. is that little square box really a capacitor and why is it there ?

Please forgive my amateur questions, I don't have a manual and couldn't find one online.
