  Greetings Greenkeys!

Last Saturday, 5th June, was a resumption of the annual N7RCA Ham Swap
in Gardnerville south of Carson City here in Nevada. It is held on my
friend's 6-acre ranch, so folks can get there early and stay late,
private property, no rules - just park your vehicle and sell Stuff.

This year there were over 50 sellers, and many many buyers wandering
around in the High Desert clean air.

This time I brought 2 model 15s, a Dovetron, and a tablet. I set them up
the night before. One Mod 15 had it's cover on, and was meant to print
continuously; the other 15 had the cover off so folks could peer into
the awesomeness of 75-year-old machinery doing its thing.  I operated
the coverless one 'on demand', because of the safety hazard...

I set up the tablet to stream ITTY into the Dovetron, and built a small
relay keyer to operate off the (Tempest) Dovetron's 6V output. Then that
keyed the loop.

I told folks that a 2-year old tablet was streaming audio into a 1978
Dovetron which was keying a 1941 teletype - that's right: it's 80 years
old this year!

The machine ran for more than 6 hours, starting at about 6:30 AM - never
dropped a character or missed a CR, and produced festoons of paper
behind it, all the while making "that sound".  It was immediately
attractive, and gathered a lot of attention during the Meet.  I made up
a couple of info sheets as to how this was all working, and I gave
ITTY's address, as well as info for Greenkeys.

My hoard of tty gear is there in a storage unit at my friend's, and I
gave away two more Model 15s and a 14TD to folks who saw the demo and
wanted to do "deedle deedle clack-clack-clack" for themselves.

The photos are of the set-up, just inside the door of a utility building
(next to my tables) and a closeup of ITTY printing perfectly after 5
solid hours.

Perhaps this will generate more interest in the TTY Hobby.  A SW radio
station was there, live-streaming interviews, and they did a few minutes
on the old Teletypes chunking away.

A Good Time was had by all - and yes, I did sell a good bunch of gear.
Not everything I brought though.  Gonna have to have words with the
Marketing / Sales dept...
