I got a good laugh about something to learn about Teletype/teletypewriter collectors.
My wife gets tired of me complaining about a box of Jello costing $1.30 instead of $0.13. Yes I'm that old.

She said she'd like to talk to me about the machine (Paul had tried to buy the one listed on eBay as I had too since I could have driven to pick it up to avoid shipping). I gave her my schedule and phone number. Late this afternoon my phone rang and the number showed to be from my area code and from a small town not far away that I was familiar with. Thinking this was in regards to the T1000 I answered it. The voice on the other ends asked if this was "Philip" or "Phillips". I hesitantly said yes and the female voice replied that she was "Alice". OK. I was a little thrown off by the accent but I was willing to go ahead. She proceeded to quiz me about my registered domain and what "plans" I had for it. Did I have sales in mind? No. End of conversation.

"She" must have thought that if I had money to make an offer on a T1000 that I'd have money to spend on their sales pitch. They obviously have something to learn about Teletype/teleprinter collectors. My wife knows better. I don't want to sound sexist but maybe it should have been a red flag for a woman to claim to own a teleprinter. Does this mean we need to do screening before people can join the list? "Show us your selector magnets first"?
