Hey Paul, maybe you can get Nick to make another trip out west and bring the Siemens this time, along with the iTelex setup! 😊

And I thought I was an early riser! Or are you just late getting to bed!

Hello Alice. Welcome to the group. Is this the machine that was listed on eBay? There was one in Houston listed for more than a year now, originally at a very high price but finally coming down. I wanted to buy that machine, and the seller was finally near the price I would pay but shipping was too expensive to Colorado.

The T1000 is made for the telex network, which does not exist any longer. It runs at 66wpm. The good news is there is a very active community that has recreated the old telex network. It is called iTelex.

Sadly I’m not in your area but I know there are at least two members who are, and who k ow all about iTelex. Hopefully they will see your message and contact you.

Paul

I bought a somewhat defective Siemens T1000, under the naïve assumption that getting it to work and buying paper, ink, and punch tape for it would be easier than it turned out to be. So I'm wondering if there's anyone in this area who would be willing to help me restore this beautiful piece of tech, or anyone in general who'd just enjoy working on cool projects with me.
