That looks great! I played around with telephone stuff long ago. In junior
high, I built a small step switch using steppers out of an old pinball
machine a friend found at the dump. In high school, I got a bunch of old
Strowger switches that Pacific Telephone had given my high school. My
friend and I built a small step switch in my garage. I remember sitting in
algebra class sketching out relay circuits to make it work. Still remember
that the A relay had a split coil and was the loop current relay that
detected off hook and dial pulses. The B relay was a slow release relay
that separated out dial pulses from hook switch changes. Lots of fun!

That same friend and I ran a mile of wire through trees for our autostart
model 15 circuit.

There is some more telephone history at http://bh.hallikainen.org . Search
the page for "Telephone and Telegraph History".
