[GreenKeys] M15 Margin-Bell Pawl Spring (82999?)

Well, mine has gone AWOL. There's a twisted stub still attached to the pawl
itself, but that's it.
In TM11-2215 (tm11-2215-teletypewriter-tt5-model-15-20pct-of600dpi-main.pdf)
the Margin-Bell Pawl Spring is clearly specified in Section 236 and Figure
203 (pp. 231-232) however it does not appear to be listed in the section on
Parts Identification. So I'm stumped as to the proper part #.
It should be a pretty stiff spring; a pull of 1/2 to 1 1/2 ounces is
recommended, so not an especially critical tension.
In 1110B_Model15_Parts_Dec43_ArmyVer.pdf on page 10 it appears to be part #
82999 "Spring", listed immediately above # 74378 "Margin Bell Pawl" on the
left-hand side of the illustration. Only the "Margin Bell Pawl" is listed
in the index, but I'm pretty sure that I've correctly identified the missing
spring in that illustration.
My confusion arises when I search for that part # back in TM11-2215 where it
appears (only) in the illustration for the RIBBON OSCILLATOR (Figure 323,
page 354). There is a corresponding identification entry for "4T82999" on
page 336 (the spring section of Miscellaneous Parts) described as "SPRING:
extension; .010" dia music wire; 17/32" lg x 9/32" dia overall". The
function of the part is left unspecified, although many other springs listed
there do include this information. There are no springs listed there
corresponding to figure 203. But at least the stated dimensions seem about
right.
Should I expect to see these sorts of inconsistencies/incompletenesses
between these two documents? Am I looking in the wrong documents? Is thus
an example of a "generic" spring with multiple uses? Is the correct part 3
"82999" or "4T82999" or something else entirely :->?
Does anyone have one of these? Or should I go directly to Mr RTTY and throw
myself on his good graces :->?
Thank you for your advice. I'm still learning-the-ropes, yes. So many
questions!
paul
