I use either the oscilloscope's differential capabilities. On Tek
analog scope I use channel 1 on one side of the resistor and channel 2
on the other side. Invert channel 2 and add. Then you see the
difference.voltage across the device. My newer Agilent digital scope
has a math function so I just display CH1-CH2.
