[GreenKeys] ASR33 metal coating

I'm cleaning up my ASR33. The bottom case (the base that the typing
unit sits on) has some rusty spots that I removed. Now I'm down to the
base metal I want to protect it from future corrosion. The patina on
the rest of the base is a dull grey (the sanded down spots are shiny
metal). Is this original coating a zinc galvanizing? Should I use cold
galvanizing spray or just a clear coat spray to protect it?
