[GreenKeys] M15 overlap of data reception and print action

As I hand crank the motor and manually inject characters by manipulating the selector magnet armature, I see that the M15 overlaps data reception of the next character with the print stroke of the current character to improve speed. The print bail returns to neutral position at about the time the 4th bit of the next character has been sampled by the selector. I later found this same information in Section 84 of the TG-7 (Army M15 models) technical manual.

During the print stroke, the selector vanes are locked into position for the current character, but the selector mechanism “stores” the new bit values on the selector lever springs which will finally push the T-levers (and hence, the selector vanes) to the new position as soon as the current print cycle unlocks the selector vanes. The first four selector vanes all move to the new value at about the same time. These machines never cease to amaze me!
