I honestly think it could be done.  I wouldn’t do it nor would I want to... but if one carefully studied the original — either doing it manually or via a script using overstrike, I think it could can be done.  Here’s an original from Florida (mileage will vary with local/regional splits across the nation).  I read it from time to time, to realize the chaos of how news worked when push came to shove back in the day:

A while back, I wrote a messy Python script that needs a lot of work… but it’ll type out mostly whatever onto the Teletype that you wish for in one 60wpm go.  I plan on getting it fixed up and released with ittyWX v2 that Paul in Colorado wrote a whole back also… just haven’t gotten to both really yet ‘cause the wife wants the house to be done home improvement wise and it's a never ending story for me recently -.- …..
