That's pretty clever! It decodes properly on DroidRTTY on my cell phone.

Handling numbers and punctuation could keep track of whether you are in
LTRS or FIGS, or, very simply, encode, for example, the number 1 as FIGS 1
LTRS. You can stay with the script just using sox to concatenate the audio
files instead of trying to keep track of where you are.

I wonder about "tailing" an input file and appending tones to an output
file so a continuous stream could be encoded.
