  I bought a batch of 50 military PL-55 plugs from a dealer in Israel. 
The only issue is they did not come with the crimp clips and screws, I 
will solder the leads in place. I mentioned  concerns about getting 
zapped a few months ago, the standard practice was to have jacks in 
order so you proceed from magnets and keyboard contacts toward the loop 
supply. You then always plug in to the source last and unplug from it 
first, taking care to never touch the tip or ring. You DO have to 
remember, but apparently it worked well enough. We observed the same 
rituals with antenna patch panels in the Air Force. A few 10 KW 
transmitters will keep one alert.
