 John,
Thanks for sharing that. Wow!I remember the days of dial up BBS and MUDs and MOOs.I had no idea people still did that. What is next? People using teletype machines?Sounds crazy but it could happen right? lol
I heard about another project. (sorry I forget the name) where the intent was to write a software emulatorthat could emulate the microprocessors used for old games like PAC MAN, Asteroids, Space Invaders....etc.The idea was to be able to run the original machine code that these games used without cross compiling the source code.Sorry if I'm talking too deep in the weeds. What this means is run binary code written for old hardware that no longer exists on modern hardware.

I have a similar device (now discontinued alas!) - this is basically
a (virtual) Hayes modem that knows how to 'talk' over wifi.

I have used mine with my ASR33 and HP 2648A terminal. You type ATDT
name_of_BBS_on_the_net and it finds it, connects, and there you are: 300
baud ASCII BBS stuff just like it's the late 70s all over. There are
many BBS systems living out there on the Net - at 300 baud you can
actually keep up with the flow of text. You can also spec higher Baud
rates. But that's no fun...

If you did the IP addresses correctly it seems possible to do
keyboard-to-keyboard sessions, or certainly via telnet if you had such a
server.
