One device that amazes me (not the technology but the fact that they 
make it at all) is the X-Link cell phone dock.  It connects to a cell 
phone via a Bluetooth link and provides a regular POTS line to support a 
telephone set.  It supports pulse dialing and even has an advanced 
configuration mode to "loosen" the pulsing criteria for older dials.  On 
top of that, you can adjust the ringing output to drive an older telephone.
