Guys:
I was out and looked at it today and found that it is a TWX machine! I will try and up load a pic later today but it does say on the Dial face "TWX" with the W.U. logo on the left side of the cover, and it has the three row keyboard.
There is "something" in the base but I did not have time to open up the back to look.
Opened the cover for the Tape Reader and got a shock!!! it has 8 holes!!.......................BUT only 5 of them have pins so it is a 5-level TWX.
Will send more pics when I get it home on Tuesday..................I hope!!!
Thanks for all the good ides on what ..........NOT!!..........to do until I check it out.

Chuck, Basically, the first thing you need to do is determine if the machine is a TWX or Telex. In all the years I worked at Western Union I never came across a 32 TWX. I think by 1968 they had been phased out and 33's and 35's were TWX. Its the 101-C data set that is the common one. Its aluminum and fills the pedestal of the machine full. See pics: First one is a Telex. Usually a 32 ASR. 3 row keyboard and rotary dial. Baudot code. Second one is a TWX. Usually a 33 ASR. 4 row kybd usually with touch tone dial but sometimes rotary. ASCII code. TWX 33 can be converted to a computer machine with parts shown is 3rd pic. I have none of the parts on hand at this time. The advice about visual inspection and rotating the motor fan towards the front is correct. More later if you need it. 73, Wayne KB1FDW
